How do I create the circle? What if im only 14, is that a good age to practice magick, or is it dangerous?

Casting Circles

I am a beginner to the craft, started studying about a month and a half ago, and I was just wondering, when should you cast your first circle/do your first ritual?

Should I wait a year and a day like some traditions or just do so whenever I feel ready?

I Am New To Witchcraft

I am new to witchcraft, should I practice as a solitary witch or join a coven?

How do I find my path?

casting a circle

When you are casting a circle do you have to cut yourself or can you just do a finger prick? I'm a beginner and I really want to practice this but I always faint at the sight of lots of blood.

In casting a circle do you even have to cause blood to come or can you do something else? To do the circle right do you have to cause blood?

Casting a circle

by Charlotte Whitehead

Hi Im going to cast a circle every new moon and full moon. I was thinking of how to do this.

This is what I was going to do:
1.Place four candles(red for fire, green for earth, blue for water, and white for air) in each of the correct compass points.(By the way which are they)

2.Then light each one of them starting at the north, which is the way my alter would be facing, and as I light each candle I would say,(for example: Earth I invite you in. Something like that)

3.Finally light the purple candle in the middle of my alter and say, Spirit I invite you in.

4.Then using my hand(or wand if I get one) say something like, This is my circle which I cast using Love and light only postive energy shall be allowed in and only postive spirts, I cast this circle.

5. Then I walk to my alter and say, Goddess and God I invite you in.

6. After I have done that I would say something like. God and Goddess help me follow the right path. Help and protect me from the dark spirits. Cleanse this space and protect this place from harmful beings. I honour you, Goddess and God.(If there is anything else I should say please tell me).

7.Then after burning something(what shoould I burn) I would say. I thank the Goddess and God for helping and protecting me, Blessed Be.

8.Then sarting at the North I would go around anti-clockwise thanking each element and blowing out the candle.

9.Then I would say this circle has been cast and has now ended, Blessed Be.

10.Then I would focus on all the good energy spreading out and lighting up the room.

Then I'm done.

If there is something wrong can you please tell me. Is that everything I should say and use? What should I have on my alter, and do I have to have the star? Please answer this a new moon is coming soon.

Thank you!

by Carol
(England)

Hi there,

I am new at Witchcraft, and have done a few spells which have worked quite well, but the only problem is, I can't seem to cast a circle. I don't really understand it. I have all my tools, candlels, incense, and oils, its just the circle.

Please could you help me?

Thank You Sincerley,

Carol
