Start reading books at your library. Thats how I got started. Some magikal items, you can make yourself. Its not always about casting spells, take a walk in the woods or in your local park, you can feel the magik around you. As you get older and want to explore more, you can buy the items you need. Local farmers markets are a wonderful place to get fresh herbs.

I think that you can pick up some herbs dirt cheap at the local supermarket. Any other stuff you may need, try some charity shops - they don't charge much.
