Setting Up
Chat Software
After you
install the Ventrillo software to use the CyberWitchcraft
Chat, you will need to give it specific information in order for it to
connect to the server.
Step by step instructions can be
used to set everything up.
You will need to enter:
- a user name - which can be anything you like.
- The name of the chat server - CyberWitchcraft
- Hostname or IP - ATL1.LeetVent.com
- Port number - 3966
Once that
has been done, click on connect, or click the CyberWitchcraft
link in the box on the CyberWitchcraft site.
Using Voice
Chat
Make sure
your microphone and speakers are connected and on. The chat
works just like a walkie-talkie. Press and hold the control key on the
left side of the keyboard to talk. Release the key to listen.
As long as you are in a room with other people, you should be able to
talk to them without trouble.
If you have questions or problems, use the Contact
Us page to get help.
Promotion
From
Guest To User
Once you
have connected to the chat server, you are automatically set
as a Guest. This level doesn't give you a lot of access.
In order to be promoted, you must have a password.
If a Guardian or Admin is logged on at the time, they will ask you if
you want to be promoted to a regular user. They will either
pull you into a private room, or set up a private chat with you so you
can give them the password you wish to use.
Once they have set up the account on the server, you must log off, and
set up the password in your software. Click on the
right-arrow button next to the server name.

This will bring up a new dialog box. Look for the Password
field. Type in the password you chose, then click OK.
Now click the connect button, and you will log on as a User at the
level set by the Admin.
You will never have to worry about typing the password again.
