This question is regarding closing and opening the elemental gates when casting a circle.

I realize that these techniques have been borrowed from High Magick such as the Kabbalah. What is the proper way of tracing the Pentagram with your athame at each direction for invoking and banishing?

I have two books that contradict each other, one of which says its more based on your intent and will rather than which starting point on the pentagram you use to invoke or banish.

Can you please attempt to clear this up.
